Experience

“The best Boutique agencies have the ability to relate to multiple disciplines without any of the confines inherent to large organisations. ACR’s particular breadth of experience is both our essence and driver. From there comes our unique perspective and offering.”
AC Rands’s background stems from the Lloyd’s Market at the global brokerage Howden, so I learnt the trade in the preeminent insurance marketplace. There, as a Broker, I negotiated reinsurance, placed binding authorities and also developed market leading stochastic loss-forecasting models to estimate loss payouts and reinsurance pricing costs.

I then went on to design and build the London InsurTech firm, Quantemplate and, as Founding CEO, successfully launched the enterprise in the U.S. in 2015 where it now derives 70% of its revenue.

My Board role at Quantemplate has included stints working in London, NYC, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley so allowing the business to draw upon the best practices applicable to enterprise technology, insurance and the financial markets.

In 2019-20 I advised a leading NYC-based Hedge Fund, D.E. Shaw & Co, on quantitative Insurance strategies working with the NYC and London offices with a focus on US insurance distribution.

In 2020-21 I led the bridge and RTO fundraising for Small Pharma (TSXV:DMT) as it listed on the Toronto Ventures Exchange, culminating in the largest concurrent financing into a CPC within the sector.

Since 2008 AC Rands has managed a private family office, Bullingdon Capital, that has achieved consistent returns outstripping the market.
